Functional furniture transformed through the slow, intricate process of pyrography.

Each piece begins as a beautifully made solid wood maple table intended to be used and lived with. From there, the surface becomes my canvas, with the burns traveling across tabletops, edges, legs, and even the underside rather than remaining confined to a single plane.

Created entirely by hand using a fine-tipped burning pen, these pieces bring together function, pattern, texture, and the natural grain of the wood. The burning is deliberately slow and detailed, allowing a object to become something that reveals itself differently from every angle.

No two pieces are created exactly alike. The individual elements are drawn and arranged by hand, with their placement, scale, and relationship to one another developing differently across each piece. Familiar forms may return, but the composition evolves as I work, giving every finished piece its own character.

Each piece is created individually by hand in my Swoope, Virginia studio. Because of the time involved in preparing, drawing, burning, and finishing the furniture, please allow approximately 8–10 weeks for creation before shipping.
